The Need
As of 2022, over 25% of Palm Beach County residents are aged 65 and over. It is predicted this will grow 10% by 2027. These residents face many hurdles related to aging independently, such as:
- An increase cost of living in Palm Beach County
- A shortage of affordable assisted living facilities
- A large number of persons 65 plus with no family members living in Palm Beach County
Our Services
Our organization provides companionship, help and solace to the aging. We collaborate with other agencies and do not duplicate services. To assist with the physical and mental health of our participants, volunteers provide the following programs:
- Transportation to medical appointments, shopping and places of worship
- Social visits in the home or via regular phone calls
- Respite Companionship Program
- Light home repairs and maintenance
- Assistance with general correspondence
- Patient advocacy
- Safety Program - proactive calls, lock boxes, accident preventive awareness
- We currently serve the following zip codes in Wellington and Royal Palm Beach: 33411, 33414, 33449, and 33490.
Volunteer Opportunities
We are committed to coordinating volunteers of all ages to assist enabling persons 65 and over to remain in their home with the support of residents and local organizations.
